Read moreTwenty-seven high achieving students have been granted full study scholarship in various universities in the United States of America. The students were given pre-orientation at the US embassy in Abuja to make their stay and integration seamless. The dwindling standards of education in Nigeria, has made study beyond the shores of the country an attractive prospect for as many that can afford the cost. The high costs of achieving this has made it the sole preserve the reserve of the rich and just a dream for the less privileged. The United States Embassy through its Education USA has created an opportunity fund programme for very brilliant students who fall into the category of the less privileged The programme which started in 2004 has given thousands of opportunities to Nigerian students who could not afford it. One of such students is Abraham Ojima that i met at the embassy. He told TVC News his very compelling story of hope and perseverance.
