The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus, has described Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, as the party’s foremost pillar.
Secondus made the remark during a visit by the National Working Committee of the party to Government House in Port Harcourt.
The national leadership of the party was in Port Harcourt to celebrate with Governor Nyesom Wike in what they termed a birthday visit, coming almost four months after the governor turned 52 on August 24.
Also on the delegation are Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa and wife of former Vice President, Titi Abubakar.
The governor’s visitors described him as the one who has given the PDP a livewire of support over the years, in spite of the many odds it has faced across the different geo-political zones in the country. Other party leaders described Governor Wike as a man who works to expand the influence of the party.
A PDP chieftain who spoke on behalf of Governor Wike commended the Party for always identifying with the people of Rivers State.
High-point of the occasion was the display of fireworks to celebrate the birthday of Governor Wike.
