The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards were held on Sunday night, August 30, under unusual circumstances due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, the night’s most-nominated artists, walked away with five and four wins, respectively, while BTS dominated in Best Pop, Best K-pop, and Best Group.
Taylor Swift earned her first in the directing category for her work helming “The Man,” while, The Weeknd took home the night’s biggest award, winning Video of the Year for “Blinding Lights”
