Residents of Okpanam community in Delta state are asking the government to address the issues of erosion which is gradually washing away homes in the area.
Residents of Nwabueze Lucky Street who are worst hit by the gully erosion now live in fear.
They say their houses may collapse if nothing is done to halt the devastation that has affected a church building, power-line and farms.
More than 100 houses and roads are now at the mercy of the eroding flood water that is not receding and continues to eat the earth surface.
Business owners say they have lost millions of naira to the disaster.
But, the Delta state government says it is taking steps at addressing the matter, shortly after an on-the-spot assessment.
Residents say the gully erosion can be mistaken for a quarry site and believes if nothing is done urgently more landmass will be washed away as the rain continues to pour
