Armed bandits have gone on rampage on several communities in Niger state as the death toll continues to rise.
According to the Emergency Management Agency, attacks by bandits on six communities in Shiroro local government areas of the state started since Wednesday, and left at least 47 persons dead.
The head of the agency mentioned that the injured are receiving treatments at various hospitals in Erena and Kuta, and others with very serious cases were referred to more advanced facilities outside the area.
12 persons were reportedly killed earlier in a separate incident in the state.
