Adoke returns to Nigeria after five-week legal deadlock

Image result for returns to Nigeria after five-week legal deadlockFormer Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke, has left Dubai in the United Arab Emirates for Nigeria, after a five-week legal deadlock.

He had been arrested by the International Criminal Police Organisation on the eleventh of November on arrival in Dubai for his medicals.

Interpol was executing a warrant of arrest issued against him, which had been vacated, but the order was not transmitted to the global body.

This lead the agency to ask his lawyers to get Abubakar Malami to attest to that fact, but he refused to endorse the documents, effectively leaving his predecessor in limbo.

But Mr Adoke has now opted for voluntary return to the country, signing an undertaking that he made this decision without pressure from the police in Dubai or anyone else.
