U.S. President Donald Trump has lashed out at the Grammy Awards, branding the ceremony “virtually unwatchable” and accusing its host, Trevor Noah, of making what he described as a false and defamatory claim about him.

Trump aired his grievances in a post on his Truth Social platform, where he ranked the Grammys among the “worst” award shows and said broadcaster CBS was “lucky” to have moved on from what he labelled “garbage.”

The president also criticised Noah’s performance as host, unfavourably comparing him to late-night television host Jimmy Kimmel. Trump’s remarks were prompted by a joke Noah made during the ceremony, in which he referenced Trump and former President Bill Clinton while alluding to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Denying any connection to Epstein’s private island, Trump insisted he had never visited the location or been linked to it in any form.

“I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close,” Trump wrote, stressing that no such allegation had previously been made against him by the media.

He described Noah’s comment as inaccurate and defamatory, warning that he was considering legal action against the comedian. Trump referred to Noah as a “pathetic” and “talentless” master of ceremonies and suggested his legal team could pursue a lawsuit seeking damages.

The president further cited past legal battles with media figures, claiming they had “worked out well” in his favour.
