A retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Tambari Yabo, has described traditional institutions in Nigeria as major players in finding a lasting solution to the security challenges bedeviling the nation.
Retired AIG Yabo added that a constitutional role should be accorded the institution because of their organised nature in intelligence gathering.
The retired police chief stated this in Yabo town in Sokoto state where he was turbaned as the Garkuwan Yabo in an elaborate celebration.
Yabo who is also a Senior Special Adviser to Governor Tambuwal on Security said he would used his position to attract development to Yabo District.
