The government of Togo has announced a visa-free entry policy for citizens of all African countries visiting the nation for short stays, in a move aimed at promoting regional integration and strengthening cooperation across the continent.
Under the new arrangement, African nationals with valid passports will be allowed to enter Togo without visas for stays of up to 30 days.
The country’s Ministry of Security disclosed the development in a statement posted on its official X handle on Tuesday, describing the decision as a major milestone in advancing free movement within Africa.

According to the authorities, the policy is expected to encourage trade, tourism, mobility and broader economic opportunities among African nations.
The ministry, however, noted that travellers would still be required to complete an online travel declaration at least 24 hours before arrival to obtain a travel slip.
The government said the reform reflects Togo’s commitment to openness and regional cooperation.
“Through this major reform, the President of the Council reaffirms his commitment to making Togo a space of openness, mobility, opportunities, and cooperation at the heart of the African continent,” the statement added.
With the latest development, Togo joins a growing number of African countries adopting relaxed entry policies to foster continental unity and integration.
