Police Probe Viral Video Of Alleged Officer Misconduct In Lagos

The Nigeria Police Force has begun a review of a viral video showing the alleged misconduct of an individual in Lagos.

In a statement, police spokesperson Aliyu Giwa said preliminary findings indicate the individual was not dressed in a standard police uniform, despite wearing items marked “NPF/Police,” and his status as a serving officer remains unconfirmed.

The Force described the behaviour in the video as unprofessional, stressing that any act capable of threatening or intimidating members of the public is unacceptable.

It called on anyone with credible information to assist in identifying the individual by reporting to the nearest police station or through official police channels.

The police assured that the matter is under review and that appropriate action will be taken once the facts are fully established.
