The Federal Capital Police Command has condemned the rumoured claim of an assassination attempt on Naval Lieutenant Ahmed Yerima, who recently had a face-off with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, describing the claims as “false information and unverified claims.”
A confrontation ensued last week between FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Army Lieutenant A.M. Yerima over an undocumented land issue in Abuja, reportedly occupied by former Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo.
The parcel of land in question is situated on Plot 1946, which became the subject of a confrontation after Wike questioned the legality of its development by the ex-naval chief, insisting the military had neither approval nor valid documentation from the FCTA.
In a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson expressed that the assassination incident was not reported or recorded anywhere within the Federal Capital Territory, and warned the public to desist from spreading false claims capable of causing panic.
