The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has called on Nigerians, particularly Muslims celebrating Eid-el-Kabir, to renew their commitment to transparency, honesty and anti-corruption values.

Olukoyede made the call in his Sallah message by the Head of Media and Publicity of the commission, Dele Oyewale, on Wednesday, May 27, saying the festival offers another opportunity for Nigerians to share “the light, love and blessings of Almighty Allah with the entire world.”

According to him, beyond the festivities and exchange of gifts associated with the celebration, Nigerians should use the occasion to strengthen virtues that promote national development and accountable conduct.

“As we celebrate, let us attune our hearts to the ideals of transparency and anti-corruption in a renewed way. Greed is not a creed of any religion. Honesty draws us closer to Allah and we must exemplify it always,” he said.

Olukoyede added that promoting integrity and accountability remains essential to building a better society and advancing the country’s development goals.
