Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has found the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, guilty of all seven counts of terrorism charges filed against him by the Federal Government.
Delivering judgment on Thursday, Justice Omotosho, cited prosecution evidence, including video interviews, broadcasts in which Kanu made violent threats against Nigeria and its citizens, as the basis for the conviction.
Justice Omotosho described the actions of the IPOB leader in calling on Chemical Engineering and Chemistry graduates to manufacture Molotov explosives as a terrorist act, and also inciting violence during the ENDSARS protest.
The Judge said, “The prosecution witnesses were witnesses of truth. Kanu was unruly and arrogant.
“He clearly stated that no court can convict him, this is a direct affront to the court.”
She also explained that , “Kanu who claimed to be a freedom fighter has done more harm than good to even his own people.
She concluded saying, “Kanu is a terrorist and must be treated as such.”

The prosecuting counsel, Adegboyega Awomolo SAN has prayed that the court to hand down the maximum sentence as prescribed by law, and also faulted the use of the social media platform to cause chaos.
He asked the court to impose restrictions on the use of Social media on Kanu pending his execution in compliance with the sentencing.
He further stated that If the court is inclined to allow him access to electronic devices it should be with the permission of the NSA.
