Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Wednesday commissioned a newly renovated lawn tennis courts at the Lagos State Public Service Club in Ikeja, Lagos.

The renovation of the sports facility was sponsored by the governor in honour of his late brother and former Osun State governor, Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke, popularly known as “Serubawon,” who was a member of the club.

This was disclosed in a statement by the spokesperson to the Osun State Governor, Olawale Rasheed, on Thursday, May 14.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Adeleke stressed the importance of sports development and urged the management of the club’s Lawn Tennis Section to ensure proper maintenance of the facility.

He said the courts should be preserved to retain their standard and continue serving members of the club for years.

President of the club, Olukayode Odunuga, described the Osun governor as a “promise keeper,” noting that Adeleke had pledged during a visit to the club last year to renovate the tennis section.

According to him, the completion of the project fulfilled that commitment.

The club executives also presented the governor with a birthday card signed by members of the club in celebration of his recent birthday.

The event was attended by top government officials and dignitaries, including the Lagos State Head of Service.
