The Jigawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed about one thousand personnel across the 27 Local Government Areas of Jigawa state to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Yuletide season.

According to Commandant Muhammed Danjuma, the proactive measure aims to provide comprehensive security before, during, and after the festive period.

The deployment includes specialised formations such as Operations, Anti-Vandal, Agro Rangers, and Counter Terrorism units, among others.

He said the personnels will ensure the Securing of critical infrastructure, including places of worship, public utilities, and government installations.

The Commandant also emphasised the importance of strict adherence to the Corps’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and directed personnel to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor.

He warned individuals involved in vandalism, stating that such activities will be met with the full force of the law.

The public is advised to remain vigilant, cooperate with security personnel, and report any suspicious activity to the nearest security agency.

Parents are also urged to monitor their children’s whereabouts and discourage the use of fireworks and other pyrotechnic devices that may cause panic or accidental fires.
