The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, has congratulated renowned investigative journalist and alumnus of the institution, Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, on his appointment as Director of News at Television Continental (TVC).

In a statement issued by Kunle Akogun, the university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Egbewole described the appointment as well deserved, noting that it reflects Kolade-Otitoju’s long years of experience, strong editorial leadership and dedication to credible journalism.

The vice-chancellor said the new role represents a major milestone in the journalist’s distinguished career in the media industry.

He recalled that the university had earlier in the year honoured the veteran journalist for his contributions to national development as part of activities marking its golden jubilee celebrations.

Kolade-Otitoju, who has spent over three decades in journalism, is a graduate of the University of Ilorin’s Department of History, where he earned his degree in 1989.

The vice-chancellor wished him continued success and a rewarding tenure in his new position at TVC.
