Security was stepped up at the National Assembly Complex on Thursday as President Bola Tinubu prepared to address a joint sitting of the Senate and House of Representatives for the presentation of the 2026 Appropriation Bill.
A heavy deployment of armed police officers was seen at major entry points into the complex, including the Main (MOPOL) Gate, the Villa Gate and the Annex Gates, as authorities tightened access ahead of the president’s arrival.
Only accredited persons were allowed into the premises, with security operatives turning back anyone without valid clearance. Despite the heightened measures, accreditation was orderly and proceeded without any reported incidents.
