The Senate has passed the 2019 appropriation bill of 8.916 trillion Niara.
This follows the submission of the report of the committee on appropriations headed by Senator Danjuma Goje.
A clause by clause consideration of the bill was done and thereafter it passed third reading.
The 2019 appropriation bill is higher than the initial budget proposal of 8.83 trillion naira presented to the national assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari in December last year.
The budget now has an addition of 86 billion naira.
The 2019 appropriation bill will be transmitted to the President for assent before it becomes an approved spending plan for 2019.
The passage of the bill comes five months after it was laid before a joint session of the national assembly.
