Recession: Nigerians urged to look inward

Image result for Unemployment: Nigerians urged to look inwardNigerians have been advised to look at tackling the rising unemployment rate in the country. This was the thrust of the first annual lecture organised by freedom online media.

TVC NEWS Kareemah Salami attended the event and reports that according to the latest figures from the national bureau of statistics, Nigeria’s unemployment rate rose from 13.3 percent to 13.9 in the third quarter of 2016. This happened within a short period of time.

And the organisers of this programme decided to bring together personalities from different walks of life to address the Problem.

The annual lecture’s theme was “Unemployment: how do we tame this monster?”.

Speaking at event, lagos Deputy governor Idiat Adegbule who represented the governor of lagos state described unemployment as a time bomb waiting to explode.

She challenged individuals and sought collective ingenuity to tackle the issue.

Speakers here were of the consensus that it is imperative to unleash the talent, skills and entrepreneurial abilities in young people to develop a creative solution to the problem of unemployment in Nigeria.
