Falae’s farm was set on fire by suspected herdsmen, and the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Gbenga Adeyanju said the command is investigating the issue.

TVC’s Ayodeji Moradeyo reports that some people suspected to be herders on Sunday evening, invaded the farm of former Secretary to Government of the Federation, Olu Falae and set it on
fire.

This is not the first time that herdsmen will attack the farm of Falae, located in Ilado Area of Akure South Local Government Area of the State but this time, some palm trees and food crops were set ablaze.

The Senior Special Assistant to the State Governor On Agriculture and the Commissioner in charge of Agriculture, said efforts are on to ensure that herders operate according to the law.

The elder statesman accused suspected Fulani herdsmen as responsible for burning of parts of his farm.

Falae said the attack was a deliberate action by herdsmen to avenge the death conviction on some herders who kidnapped him in 2015.  He however faulted the idea of cattle colony being proposed by the Federal Government as obnoxious.

According to him, the proposal shows that the Federal Government is establishing cattle colonies in States to please herders.

Police authorities have vowed to arrest the suspected herdsmen behind this latest attack on the farm of Falae.
