The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed allegations that it is preventing aspirants from purchasing nomination forms for the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, the party said its Interim National Working Committee is not aware of any obstruction by officials against prospective aspirants.

The PDP clarified that, in response to appeals from members, it recently amended its timetable to extend the deadline for the purchase and submission of forms.

According to the revised schedule, the last date for the purchase and return of completed forms is Friday, 22 May 2026, while special screening for outstanding aspirants is slated for Saturday, 23 May 2026.
The party also noted that although its National Executive Committee had zoned the presidential ticket to the southern region, the constitutional right to aspire for office cannot be restricted by internal arrangements such as zoning.
It therefore urged the public to disregard reports suggesting that the party is hindering aspirants, reiterating that nomination forms remain available to all qualified Nigerians within the stipulated timeframe.
