All is now set at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, where a major political coalition is expected to formally adopt the African Democratic Congress, ADC, as its platform to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
Initially, the coalition had proposed forming a new party the All Democratic Alliance, ADA or adopting the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
However, following months of high-level consultations involving key political figures such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, the coalition has now resolved to align under the ADC as the party of choice to take on the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
