The Coronation Organising Committee for the installation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has announced traffic diversions ahead of the ceremony scheduled for Friday, on major roads leading to Mapo Hall in Oyo State.

This was disclosed in a traffic advisory issued and made available to TVC on Wednesday. The security sub-committee under the general committee, chaired by former CCII President, Chief Bayo Oyero, stressed that the diversions are in place due to the confirmation received from the presidency on the attendance of President Bola Tinubu.

The statement reads, “Traffic Diversion in Ibadan as Tinubu Attends Olubadan Coronation Friday.

“The Coronation Organising Committee for installing the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has announced traffic diversions ahead of the ceremony scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025, at the historic Mapo Hall.

“In a traffic advisory issued on Tuesday, the security sub-committee under the general committee, chaired by former CCII President, Chief Bayo Oyero, disclosed that the diversions are necessary due to the attendance of President Bola Tinubu, who has confirmed he will be present at the coronation.”

According to the advisory, the affected routes will be closed from 7:00 a.m. on Friday. The routes include Beere Junction inward Mapo Hall, Born Photo Junction inward Oja’ba, Idi-Arere Junction inward Oja’ba, and Itamerin Junction inward Mapo Hall.

To ease the movement of guests, the committee provided alternative routes and three official parking areas, which include the Ibadan North Local Government car park in front of the Immigration Office, Agodi, the football field beside Yemetu Police Station, and Liberty Stadium, Oke Ado.

The committee also announced that shuttle buses will be available to convey well-wishers with valid invitation cards from the designated parks to Mapo Hall.

The advisory further advised food vendors and other traders to arrive at the venue between 6:00 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. before the commencement of the road closures.

The committee emphasised that only the convoys of President Tinubu and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, will be permitted to access the restricted routes leading directly to Mapo Hall.

TVC previously reported that the Balogun of Ibadan-designate, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, explained that the upcoming coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland would be conducted without controversy, stressing that the enthronement of the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, would proceed peacefully, unlike his predecessor.

Ajibola revealed that the activities leading to the coronation of Oba Ladoja began with interdenominational prayers at the Olubadan Palace in Oke-Aremo, in the Ibadan North Local Government Area of the state, on Monday.
