The Nigerian Ports Authority has initiated a new platform designed to plug revenue leakages across the nation’s seaports. The Ports authority says that the launch of the Revenue and Invoice Management System will help to integrate businesses in the maritime industry through the use of internet-based devices.
Discriminatory charges at the different ports in the country have been a recurring complaint among Seaport users who want an improved service delivery and transparent operational procedures.
The Ports Authority believes that the introduction of the Revenue and Invoice Management System will address concerns especially in tariff harmonization and the blocking of revenue leakages.
It was noted that the platform will integrate businesses in the ports industry through the use of internet based devices, thereby eliminating unnecessary human interface in the port system.
