The NNPC has assured Nigerians that there will be enough fuel supply following the resurgence of long queues at filling stations in Abuja.

According to Garba Muhammad, an NNPC spokesperson in a statement, the long queues were caused by low load-outs at depots due to the Sallah holiday.

Mr Muhammad added that an other factor contributing to the unexpected formation of lineups was higher fuel purchases, which were also familiar to FCT residents returning from public vacations.

“The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, in collaboration with their marketing partners, have taken the necessary steps to increase load-outs from all depots, the NNPC Ltd. hereby advises motorists not to engage in panic buying as supplies were adequate and would become more apparent in the coming days,” he said.

Mr. Muhammad assured all residents of the FCT, and Nigerians, that there is ample local supply and national stock in excess of 2.5 billion litres, with the sufficiency of more than 43 days.
