Nigerian army general, Chikadibia Obiakor, will be leading a United Nations board of inquiry to investigate series of attacks on hospitals in Idlib, northwest Syria in January 2018.
The UN had also appointed him to lead a special investigation into the killing of some Burundian refugees in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The three-member board of enquiry headed by Leutnant General Obiakor will ascertain the facts of the attack and not assess blame. The UN says Its findings will not be made public.
The establishment of the board was announced by the office of the US Secretary General, following a series of attacks on hospitals in Idlib. It will start work on the thirtieth of September.
