A young interior designer, Deborah Moses, popularly known as Deb’rah Porsche, has been gruesomely murdered by her ex-boyfriend in Lagos, months after she ended their relationship.

The suspect, identified as Lintex, a native of Otukpo in Benue State, allegedly gained entry into Deborah’s residence late Wednesday night after deceiving estate security by posing as a dispatch rider.

According to activist Meddy Olotu, when security raised doubts about his identity, the suspect scaled the fence to gain access to the compound. He reportedly attempted to cause an explosion by cutting the cooking gas pipe outside the house, but when that failed, he broke into Deborah’s apartment.

Neighbours said Lintex confronted Deborah and stabbed her multiple times, killing her on the spot.

The victim’s sister revealed that Deborah ended the relationship over a year ago, but Lintex allegedly refused to let go.

“They have broken up for more than a year now, but this guy refused to move on. He kept saying, ‘If I don’t have you, nobody will. If I don’t marry you, blood will flow,’” she said.

She added that Deborah had been avoiding strange calls and unwanted advances from him, focusing on her budding career as an interior decorator after completing her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.

“He finally made good on his threats and killed her when she was only trying to find her feet,” the grieving sister said.

Neighbours restrained the suspect after the attack and handed him over to the police. He is currently in custody as the family and human rights activists demand justice, insisting that the case must not be swept under the carpet.
