Image result for Katsina FMC complies with NARD's industrial actionSeveral patients are relocating to state government owned and private hospitals in the Katsina metropolis as the strike by resident doctors of the Federal Medical Centre Katsina entered its fourth  day.

A visit to the Federal Medical Centre Katsina by TVC News Katsina crew revealed that most patients with their loved ones have resorted to seeking other options since the doctors joined the nationwide strike.

TVC News Katsina Correspondent, Awwal Ibrahim reports that it is a strike that has grave implications for human lives, but the President of FMC Katsina National Association of Resident Doctors, Dr Debo Adeosun insists resident doctors had no other option but to join the strike following the failure of government to stick to its side of an agreement earlier entered.

He said, the strike is total and there will be no going back till their demands are met. Adeosun also appealed to the Federal government to improve on the general working conditions of hospitals in the country as poor conditions of service are causing Doctors to migrate to other African Countries.

According to a woman who was left on her own to nurse her Father,  lamented that since the strike started, there have been fewer doctors or at times no Doctors around to attend to patients.

The Accident and emergency ward in the FMC Katsina is completely deserted by patients, and the few non medical staff around are taking the opportunity to properly sanitise the ward.  But in compliance to the directives from the Federal Ministry of Health, Senior Doctors are attending to patients, especially at the ante natal unit.
