The Kaduna Police Command says it has arrested 182 suspects and recovered arms, ammunition and drugs in a crackdown on crime across the state.
Police Public Relations Officer DSP Mansir Hassan said the operations were carried out between 9 and 13 June in Rigasa, Kawo, Tudun Wada, Sabon Tasha and other black spots.
The raids resulted in the recovery of 30 bags containing about 1,600 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis, alongside dangerous weapons. An AK-47 magazine loaded with 31 rounds of live ammunition was also recovered after suspects abandoned it during a chase in Rafin Guza.
In another incident, officers from Kakuri Division arrested Ziya U. Abdullah, 35, who was attempting to sell a suspected stolen vehicle. His arrest led to the capture of an alleged accomplice, Bashir Usman, alias Yellow. The suspects are believed to have robbed a residence in Gona with knives and cutlasses before making away with a Honda Accord, which was later recovered in Zaria.
Some suspects have already been arraigned in court, while investigations continue into the cases of those still in police custody.
