Nigerians have commended the management of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board for being responsive to the plight of prospective candidates, over difficulty in enrolling for the National Identification Number.
But many students are still not aware that they can go ahead with registration for the examination without the NIN. The National Identity Management Commission Office in Lagos, is still flooded by prospective candidates.
Many of them were still seeking to get their National identification number. Other applicants seeking to make corrections on their date of birth and
names, accused officials of the commission of corrupt practices.
The Registrar of JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede had explained that the aim of using the National Identification Number as requirement for
registration, was to ensure that the biometrics and other personal details of a candidate are captured, towards checking examination malpractice.
