Nigerian states want the country’s ecological fund to be utilized to tackle their states’ environmental issues.
A nine man delegation of state governors met with the finance minister and the Central Bank governor on the issue.

The governors at the end of the meeting expressed worry that the country’s ecological and stabilization funds were lying fallow when the country has critical needs.
They identified challenges of desert encroachment and gas flaring with gross environmental implications for their states, which the ecological fund could be used to address.
