Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola said mineral-rich Communities should be heavily fortified, to make them impenetrable to external aggression and incursion.
The governor was speaking at the statewide security sensitization Programme in Osogbo, Osun State.
Correspondent, Rafiu Hammed reports that the sensitization programme was the first statewide security sensitization Programme for security stakeholders in Osun under the current Administration.
The event drew all heads of security agencies, Traditional rulers led by the Ooni of Ife, top Government functionaries, opinion leaders, civil
society Organizations and members of the Public.
The essence is to forestall possible influx of illegal miners and the attendant risk of kidnapping, killings, drug dealings, arms peddling, rape
among others.
The Ooni of Ife said it’s high time Nigerians come together and Secure their Communities.
The State Governor promised to concretize the state’s security and peace architectures. They all resolved that security agencies must unleash their intelligence capacity to crack the activities of bandits.
