The curtain has fallen on the 20th World Athletics Championships, which concluded in Tokyo, Japan, on Sunday, September 21, following nine days of intense and thrilling competition that began on September 13.

As expected, the United States asserted its dominance once again, topping the medal table with an impressive 26 medals across a range of events.

The country maintained its status as a powerhouse in global athletics with standout performances in sprints, relays, jumps, and throws.

Kenya delivered a commanding performance in distance events, finishing second overall with 11 medals, while Jamaica claimed 10 medals, reaffirming its reputation in the sprinting world and securing third place in the standings.

European nations also made a strong impact, with Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, and Canada recording solid performances and multiple podium finishes across various disciplines.

In addition to the top medal-winning nations, several countries made significant strides on the global stage. Botswana, Nigeria, South Africa, and Ethiopia all earned spots on the podium, showcasing the growing depth and diversity in international athletics.
