A Chief Magistrate court has remanded four principal suspects in the destruction of the Sotitobire church in Ondo state at the Olokuta Correctional Centre.
A-year-old child got missing at the church in November last year leading to suspicion that the Church leader may be culpable.
Ayodeji Moradeyo reports that the suspects, Yusuf Owa, Adebayo Adeyemi, Omowumi Adeleye, and Babatunde Adu are facing a six-count charge of felony, conspiracy, murder, arson and stealing.
The four of them are to join fourteen others earlier remanded at the Olokuta Correctional Centre, over the same offence.
They were also alleged to have killed one Sergeant Sheidu Ocheopo, by smashing him with tyre rim and stones at the Church in Oshinle area of
Akure, while performing his lawful duty.
The Magistrate, Charity Adeyanju, ordered the defendants to be remanded at the correctional centre, pending hearing of the motion on notice. She adjourned the case to Monday next week.
Meanwhile, founder of Sotitobire Church, Prophet Alfa Babatunde is expected to appear in court on Friday (today) for the resumed hearing of the case against him over the alleged kidnap of Gold Kolawole, who got missing during a service in his church.
The prophet was accused of conspiring with five other suspects to kidnap and aid the abduction of the one-year-old boy.
