The securities and exchange commission’s re-constituted board has been inaugurated by the Federal Govt on Monday
The nine member board include chaired by Mr. Olufemi Lijadu has full and part time members
The country’s fiscal authorities advised it to strengthen weakening good governance practices in the capital market.
Lijadu in his remarks assured that the Board will work hand-in-hand with all stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability which is critical to building investors’ confidence and public trust. He also said that the Commission will always follow the rule of law to enforce rules in the Capital Market to ensure orderliness.
President Buhari dissolved the former SEC board headed by Peter Obi in July 2015
Capital Market Operators had expressed concern over delays in re-constituting the agency’s board for four years.
