COVID-19: FG receives medical supplies worth $22m from EU, UN

With the rising number of confirmed cases of the Coronavirus in Nigeria, the Federal Government on Saturday received essential medical supplies worth 22 million dollars from the European Union and the United Nations.

The goods which arrived Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 2:30pm was received by members of the Presidential Task Force, has about 100,000 test kits, 545 oxygen concentrators, PPES and other essentials.

The medical supplies will support government to prevent and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic in affected states across the country.

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus in Nigeria in late February, the UN has been supporting the Government of Nigeria to respond to the pandemic through risk communications and community engagement, infection prevention and control, epidemiology/surveillance and management of coronavirus cases.
