Dr Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye, the Iya Aladura General of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, extended her condolences to the families of the victims and the staff of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, United Capital, and United Bank for Africa Plc.

The condolences follow the fire incident at the Afriland building on Broad Street, Lagos Island, that killed several people and injured others.

In a statement released on Thursday, Yomi-Sholoye, who is also the founder of The New Seraph Evangelical Ministries, expressed her deep grief.

“I condole with Gov. Sanwo-Olu, the people of the state, and affected organisations, including FIRS and UBA, over the tragic fire at Afriland Towers that claimed several lives,” she said.

The cleric also offered a prayer for the victims’ loved ones, saying, “May God Almighty comfort the families, colleagues, and loved ones of the departed and the injured during this time of deep grief and pain.”

She extended her condolences to the management and staff of Afriland Properties Limited.

Furthermore, Yomi-Sholoye advised for more caution, training, and alertness to prevent such emergencies in the future.

She lauded the quick intervention of all emergency responders, including the Federal Fire Service, first aiders, medical personnel, and members of the public, for their deep sense of responsibility during the evacuation.

TVC previously reported that President Bola Tinubu has extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of those affected by Tuesday’s fire outbreak at the Afriland Building in Lagos.

In a statement released on Thursday by Presidential Spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the President also sympathised with the management and staff of Afriland Properties Limited, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), United Capital, and United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, all of whom were impacted by the tragic incident.

Tinubu expressed particular concern for individuals who lost loved ones or sustained injuries in the blaze, offering prayers for the souls of the departed and a swift recovery for the injured.
