One of Nigeria’s leading content creators and streamers, Carter Efe, Twitch’s account has been temporarily suspended, days after his record-breaking livestream with Afrobeats star Davido.

The livestream, which took place on December 17, 2025, garnered significant attention online and enabled Carter Efe to become Africa’s most-followed Twitch streamer, with over 405,000 followers.

Carter Efe breaks the record for the Most Watched Twitch Livestream in Africa with 83,000 viewers on his livestream with Davido, and also becomes the first African Streamer to surpass 20,000 subs on Twitch.

The development comes shortly after Carter Efe surpassed fellow Nigerian content creators, including Shank Comics, to seal his spot as the most followed African user on Twitch.

The comedian, amid emotional breakdown, announced on Monday that Twitch had placed a four-month suspension on his account, citing violations of its Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, with claims that no specific details were provided regarding the alleged infractions.

Twitch, in an email message posted on social media by the 26-year-old Nigerian comedian, stated that his channel has been restricted globally for alleged Terms of Service violations.

While online talk speculates on mass reports or edgy content like drinking games, Efe quickly pivoted to YouTube, where he welcomed new subscribers with grateful cheers as supporters rallied behind their “joy giver.”

TVC News previously reported that Nigerian content creator and musician, Oderhohwo Efe, popularly known as Carter Efe, has become Africa’s most-followed streamer on Twitch, following his latest stream programme on Wednesday, hosting Afrobeats popstar, Davido.

He broke the record previously held by comedian and content creator Adesokan Emmanuel, known as Shank Comics.
