Tens of thousands protested against austerity and Brexit in Manchester, as the Conservative Party began its four-day annual conference on Sunday.
Carrying European Union flags, the protesters marched through the streets, demanding a second Brexit referendum and an end to the government’s budget cuts.
Among those protesters were the Conservative Party’s own members, who said they did not have an opportunity to express their opinions at their party meetings.
On the first day of the four-day conference, there were three large demonstrations in the city with the police dispatching thousands of officers to the streets.
