The Nigerian Army has raised an alarm that some persons are seeking to disrupt the May 29 handover.
The Army also noted that foreign bodies are working to cause disaffection and division among the Multinational Joint Task Force, (MNJTF) to give room for the so-called Islamic State for West African Province (ISWAP) and Boko Haram terrorist group to launch attacks on civilians.
In a statement by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa, the army advised the federal government and Nigerians to be wary of activities that could heat up the polity as the nation prepares to celebrate twenty years of unbroken democracy.
Colonel Musa also stated that there are false accusations and fake news circulating the social media to demoralise troops and security agencies. he however wants such persons and groups to stop disseminating these stories as the consequences of their actions would be injurious to themselves and the country.
