Commissioner of Police in charge of Anambra State Election, Abayomi Shogunle, has provided an update on the security architecture of the state ahead of Saturday’s Gubernatorial election.
While addressing the press and stakeholders in Akwa on Thursday, CP Shogunle stated that over 50,ooo security operatives have been deployed to the nooks and crannies of the state, to ensure a smooth election process.
Shogunle said, “As a matter of fact, not only police officers, we are deploying over 50,000 security operatives and the deployment will not be concentrated in just one place.
“Citizens in Anambra will notice police presence in all the designated polling units. We have over 5000 polling unit on Anambra and by the guidelines of inec, we are suppose to have nothing less than 3 police officers and security agencies in each of the polling units.”
He added, “That will be over 15000 personnel securing the polling unit alone.
“In addition to that, we have collation centers in the ward and local government. We also have the CBN and the inec collation centers which is the final collation center.”

As monitored by TVC, the election materials are neatly arranged to be sent statewide to each Local Government Area.
Representatives from all political parties, the Election Logistics Technical Support Team, security agencies, and INEC officials are present at the commencement of the distribution.
