Shops were open for commercial activities around the popular Nodu Hall in Awka South Local Government Area, despite the movement restriction order issued by the Inspector General of Police. Tricycle operators were also seen operating freely.
INEC officials arrived before 8 a.m. with election materials at polling units 009, 010, 023, 024, 025, 027, and 028, all located within the Nodu Village Hall, where seven polling units are situated.
Voter registers were promptly pasted, allowing voters waiting patiently to check their names.
Members of the community provided chairs for voters and security personnel ahead of the commencement of the election.

Across most areas visited in Awka South Local Government, the atmosphere remained peaceful, with security personnel on patrol to ensure an orderly process.
The Presiding officer at Unit 012 of Igwedinma Primary School 3 in Awka said accreditation and voting started at 8:30am and has only recorded 4 votes.
The BVAS machines are working with no issues recorded.
