The Nasarawa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Lafia, has reserved its judgement for a later date.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has filed a petition before the tribunal challenging the results of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the March 18 election.

Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Ezekiel Ajayi made the decision of the court known following the adoption of final written addresses by counsels of both political parties.

Adopting their written addresses, Lead Counsel to the PDP, Kanu Agabi, prayed the tribunal to consider the facts before it as evidence to declare the PDP governorship candidate as the winner of the election.

He argued that there are disparities in the votes contained in form EC8A polling unit results and Form EC8B ward results.

The PDP counsel says the party won with a margin of 841 votes against the 4130 votes it earlier claimed based on available evidence of result.

But in their separate submissions, Counsel to INEC, Ishiaku Dikko, Counsel to the state governor, Wole Olanikpekun, and counsel to APC, Hassan Liman, urged the tribunal to dismiss the petition over failure to prove a reduction in their votes.
