Human rights activist and politician, Omoyele Sowore, has stepped down as the National Chairman of the African Action Congress (AAC).

The party announced the development in a statement shared on its X handle on Tuesday, May 26.

According to the AAC, Samuel Ajeigbe has now assumed office as the new National Chairman of the party.

“Omoyele Sowore has officially stepped down as the National Chairman of the African Action Congress (AAC),” the party stated.

“The party hereby welcomes Samuel Ajeigbe as the new National Chairman of our great party,” the statement added.
