Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria have submitted a petition at the National Human Rights Commission asking for an in depth investigation into the killing of a journalist, Alex Ogbu, during their last outing.
The journalist who was a reporter for an Abuja based newspaper was killed by a stray bullet during a confrontation between shi’ites and the police.
Members of the group also protested their proscription and circumstances under which their leader, Ibrahim El Zak-Zaky, is still being detained.
