Image result for Senate confirms 82 year-old justice, two others as ambassadorsThe Nigerian Senate has confirmed eighty-two year old Justice Sylvanus Nsofor as an ambassador despite a report against him by the State Security Services which kicked against his confirmation due to old age.

Also confirmed as ambassadors at Wednesday’s plenary are: Joseph Igi and Yusuf Hinna.

The confirmation followed the presentation of a report by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs on the outcome of the screening exercise conducted on the three nominees.

The Senate had in March this year rejected Nsofor following the recommendations of its committee because he looked frail and tired during the screening.
