The All Progressives Congress in Zamfara state said the unity of Nigeria is not negotiable and has expressed support for ongoing calls for Restructuring.
Zamfara state APC Chairman, Lawal Abubakar Makaman Kaura disclosed this at a stakeholders meeting on True Federalism in Gusau.
Correspondent Ibrahim Bello reports that there have been increasing agitations by various groups in the country on the need for restructuring of Nigeria.
The All Progressive Congress APC has set up a committee to review all the ideas on True federalism, Restructuring, Devolution Of powers, Regionalism, Resource Control, Local Government Autonomy and many others issues of National interest.
And this informed the decisions of the leadership of APC in Zamfara state to summoned a meeting of all stakeholders including traditional rulers, Religious leaders and civil society organisations to give their own input on the current agitations.
Alhaji Umar Jibo Commissioner for information Zamfara state is the Deputy Chairman of the committee set up by the party.
Speaker after speaker expressed the opinion that if Zamfara state will harness the untapped abundance minerals resources God endowed the state with, and improve Agriculture as well as the literacy levels of the people, it will stand on its own.
The committee is expected to receive in writing, a memorandum on the restructuring from all concerned citizens or group.
