The Senate is set to investigate alleged procurement irregularities in the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing and the Bureau of Public Procurement.
This followed a motion by Senator Dino Melaye on Thursday asking the upper chamber to scrutinize several road contracts awarded by the ministry after disagreements with the BPP on alleged improper approvals.
Senate President Bukola Saraki later referred the motion to the Senate Committee on Public Procurement for investigation and the report is expected back in four weeks.
