The Kogi State Police Command, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army, local hunters and vigilante groups, has arrested eight suspects during coordinated bush-combing operations across parts of the state.
The operation, which was intelligence-led, involved the combing of forested and remote areas suspected to be used by criminal elements. It was supported by aerial surveillance to track suspicious movements and identify hideouts.
Police said several bandit camps and suspected criminal hideouts were discovered and neutralised to prevent further use. Following the operation, suspected criminals reportedly fled the areas, abandoning their enclaves.
