The Delta State Police Command have busted a notorious kidnapping syndicate, recovered several firearms in operations across Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta States.
According to a Wednesday statement shared on X by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, the operation was carried out in 2026 under the leadership of CP Aina Adesola.
The statement reads, “In the year 2026, Delta state command under the leadership of CP Aina Adesola has continued from where we left off in the year 2025. Operatives of the CP Special assignment team acting on intelligence arrested a suspected kidnapper in Portharcourt who led them to Bayelsa State, where one AK-47 rifle was recovered, and another AK-47 rifle in Patani Delta State.

Also recovered from another syndicate are two K-2 rifles, two pump action guns, two locally made guns, ammunition and cartridges. Delta State Police command is working.
TVC News previously reported that the Rivers State Police Command has arrested twelve suspects in connection with a violent attack on Unity Estate, located at Mbodo–Aluu, Airport Road in Port Harcourt.
According to a statement signed by CSP Grace Iringe-Koko, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, the incident occurred on January 5, 2025, at about 1315hrs, when suspected members of the OSPAC vigilante group drawn from various communities in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, alongside hired thugs armed with pump-action guns, cutlasses, and other dangerous weapons, invaded the estate.
